The arena was alive with anticipation as 25 formidable women from 14 countries and 28 determined men from 15 nations gathered to showcase their skills on the international stage.
All eyes were on the defending champion, Omar Assar, whose name had become synonymous with excellence in the sport. However, fate dealt a cruel blow as Assar was forced to withdraw from the men’s event due to an injury, leaving his title defense hanging in the balance.
