Mr Mike Ohadike Rtd DG NCS. thank you for taking the time to speak with me today. As the sponsor of the 1st “Not Bad” National Top 20 Table Tennis Championships, your support has been instrumental in the success of the event. We’re eager to learn more about your motivations, experiences, and future plans regarding this sponsorship.
1.What motivated you to sponsor the 2024 “1st Not Bad” National Top 20 Table Tennis Championships?
“It has always been my passion to give back to the table tennis community the sports that I have always been part of since my child hood. So I will say it’s simply passion driven.”
2.How do you believe your sponsorship has impacted the participants and the table tennis community in Nigeria?
” The upsets in the tournament proved that everyone is working hard towards greatness. The notable names could not qualify in their respective groups. That speaks volume and was the peak of the tournament.”
3.Can you share any memorable moments or highlights from the championship that stood out to you?
” The tournament was initially slated for top 16 but later upped to top 20 players. Those who emerged as the joint third position were additional names to the top 16 players. The chance they had were utilised. That’s what opportunity is all about.”
4.Do you have plans to continue sponsoring similar sports events in the future?
“Once we are alive and God remains kind to us. We will continue to give back to the community of table tennis.”
5.What feedback have you received from the participants and organizers regarding your sponsorship?
” The NTTF were very supportive through out the tournament. The rules of engagement were adequately applied to ITTF standards. I owe them gratitude for this partnership. I hope to work with them in more avenues in the future.”
6.How important is community and youth development in your sponsorship decisions?
” Youth development will always depend on those who are ready to rise. Discipline playing a major role in their lives they will always excel, if they tow the line of humility the sky is their limit.”
7.How has sponsoring this event aligned with your brand’s values and marketing strategy?
” Good, at least the social media had our presence. Not Bad Sports Arena has come to stay. We will keep improving on our short falls. We are a club and we intend to engage other clubs within the country and the West Africa region for inter club tournaments.”
8.Do you have a personal connection to table tennis or sports in general that influenced your decision to sponsor this event?
” I have been playing the game of table tennis for over 50yrs and I am still active. Our facilities were acquired over a period of time. It was painstaking but we were able to achieve greatness. Perseverance was out guidance. We thank God for all we have achieved.”
