The Nigerian Paralympic team is currently in Saarbrücken, Germany, for an intensive training camp ahead of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. This training is part of their final preparations, aimed at ensuring they are in top form for the competition. A total of 24 athletes are representing Nigeria in four sports: Para Athletics, Para Badminton, Para Powerlifting, and Para Table Tennis.
The training camp in Saarbrücken was chosen strategically due to its similar climate to Paris and its proximity to the French capital, which allows for easier acclimatization and transition to the competition environment. The Nigerian team is divided into two batches for this training, with the first batch arriving on August 12th and the second on August 13th.
These preparations are crucial for Nigeria, which has a strong history in the Paralympic Games, and expectations are high for the team to perform well in Paris.
