ITTF Men’s & Women’s World Cup Macao 2026
The ITTF Men’s & Women’s World Cup Macao 2026 is a major international table tennis event on the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) calendar. It brings together 48 men and 48 women, featuring many of the world’s top-ranked players 1,500 ITTF World Ranking points for the winner in each event and is staged at Galaxy Arena in Macao, China.
The event consists solely of men’s and women’s singles. The first stage is a group round-robin, played in best-of-five games—this is the first time the World Cup has used best-of-fen).
Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin capped a thrilling week at the ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup, each achieving landmark victories at the Galaxy Arena in China’s Macao SAR (Special Administrative Region) on Sunday.
Sun etched her name in the record books as the first female player to clinch three consecutive World Cup singles titles, further cementing her dominance in the sport of table tennis.
The World No. 1 demonstrated her prowess in the final, defeating second-ranked compatriot Wang Manyu 4-1 (11-9, 11-8, 13-11, 8-11, 11-7).
On the men’s side, World No. 1 Wang prevailed in an intense showdown with 18-year-old Japanese sensation Sora Matsushima, currently ranked eighth in the world.
A gripping contest that tested his physical and mental endurance saw the 25-year-old top seed triumph for a nail-biting 4-3 victory (9-11, 18-16, 11-8, 11-13, 8-11, 11-4, 11-8), marking his first men’s singles World Cup crown.
