On Day 2 of the IITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao 2025, currently underway at the Galaxy Arena in Macao, Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna delivered a solid performance in Group 16. Aruna secured a 3-1 victory over Abdel-Kader Salifou of Benin, marking a strong start in the group stage. Salifou, who earned his first-ever World Cup qualification earlier this year, was unable to overcome Aruna’s experience and powerful forehand play.
Aruna is aiming to advance to the knockout stage of the tournament. He is set to face Sweden’s Anton Källberg in his next group match. Only the top player from each group will progress to the next round.
The tournament, which runs from April 14 to 20, features the world’s top table tennis players competing for the prestigious Evans Cup (men) and Hammarlund Cup (women).
